Today was my first day at my new job.
I've been pretty darn picky about what I want to do, so it took a long time to find one. But I think that Akoha and I are going to be a really good fit.
Of course, because I'm working for them, you know they're the good guys. The company is geared towards facilitating social change through sharing, which is something I'm really down with.
We're in a building that's about two minutes from my house, which is a lovely commute. The office is buzzing with start-up energy and everyone seems dedicated and practical. There's a team of brilliant hackers and people with business sense. I think we're going to go places.
I've got a new computer, which I spent the whole day setting up, and best of all I got to participate in an interview. Diving into the deep end is always an exciting experience, so we'll see how things go in the next week or so.
Wish me luck!

I love sharing and encouraging other people to share. That's because I often have things that other people need and the world has always been good enough to help me with the stuff that I need.
Paying it forward has always seemed to bring me good luck.
Let me know if they need a novelist. :)
Oh yeah, I ordered some of your novels recently. When they arrive in the mail, I might be knocking on your door for an autograph. :)
Me too! & best of luck diving in!
I highly recommend learning Python, though. I just started last week and it's a pretty cool language. It's definitely the preferred choice for scripting these days.
In any case - kudos on the new hotness!
I suggest you instead have fun. Having fun doesn't have to involve killing... or so I'm told.
Let us know how it goes.
So have they found a replacement for your old job at Canonical?
As for Ubuntu, they're in Brian Murray's capable hands.
Will I see you Thursday night?
I didn't even know there was something happening on Thursday. Guess I don't read LiveJournal as compulsively as I used to.
I'll see if I can find time to show up.
Did you install Ubuntu 7.04?
Cheers,
Josh
Feisty has been running on my laptop for quite a while now. It seems to work just fine.
