I just bought one-sixteenth of a cow. Cows are pretty big, so there’s plenty of beef.

I conspired with [info]diluvienne to cook some of her share.

We made huge pots of boeuf bourguignon and beef chili. Our plan is to have some of it for lunch tomorrow.

I have no photos of this wild culinary excess. Instead, here is a picture of something completely different.

Wow, that crème brulée looks amazing! I mean, it both looks delicious, and the photo is superb too.

Did you make it? Can you tell me how?

How'd you think to go in on this beef deal?

I did not make this, but there’s an excellent recipe in The Joy of Cooking.

Our mutual friend ordered a side of cow from a local farmer and needed people to help her split it up. I was more than happy to lend a hand.

7am brain wonders if beef-flavoured brulee is possible or desirable...

no, but i think bacon-flavoured would be delicious.

i have had beer-flavoured, and it was yummy.

A savoury custard would be rather peculiar, I think.

I hope you like beef, for when you come back, you have a freezer full of it.

I guess that we got carried away with all the meat in front of us. Photos weren't on our minds... ;-)
