For the longest time, my webserver has been down, and it's only now that I've been able to come back home to look at it.
So last night, I plugged in the monitor and took a look at it. Oh goodie, kernel panic.
A reboot and a dist-upgrade later results in a reasonably happy machine. So no worries until the next time it keels over. But by then, I hope to have its replacement done. The poor thing is a dual Pentium Pro 200 with 64 MiB of RAM. It should be put out to pasture, I think.

Even in my line of work (processor design), in which bits and bytes are a fundamental part of everyday life, nobody uses binary prefixes.
Except for me that is. Everybody always look at me strangely when I write Ki, Mi, Gi, etc. It's even worse when I say "kibibyte", "mebibyte", etc. :)
