Back on the treadmill

Yup, I'll admit it: I haven't been to the gym in ages. I was starting to get pudgy around the midsection again, so I figured that I was probably losing muscle mass and putting on fat. Not a good tradeoff.

So today, I decided to get back on the wagon, so to speak. I showed up at the YMCA and Daneen gave me my towels, while commenting that she hadn't seen me for a long while. I shrugged and said I was busy. "Isn't everybody," she replied.

Anyway, I went through my exercise routine, noting that I had to scale back a bit on the weights. But I managed to do a pretty good cardiovascular workout without too much trouble. The gym is mostly empty these days: probably a combination of the good summer weather, and the breaking of New Year's resolutions.

Afterwards, I had a wonderfully hot shower, and changed to go to work. Not too shabby.

Oh wait. Right now, my arms are telling me that I should have scaled back further on those weights.

Good for you. Keep it fun, take it easy. It's amazing what regular workouts, even mellow, will do for feeling great.
