Sticking it to the Man—with cookies!

Cookies and letters

The rest of you should be ashamed! Shame!!!

Not only that, you missed out on fresh cookies. We had to eat them all ourselves.

Plus, you didn't get high on licking stamps.

Where is your sense of adventure?

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest my sense of adventure is with me here in Waterloo.

Excuses, excuses! Since when has a 700 km trip stopped you before?
4th Apr, 2006 03:31 (UTC)
I only take 100km trips on a lark, I'm afraid.

It's cool. I'll give you a ring.

Now I am totally desiring delicious-tasty-melt-in-your-mouth-cookie-goodness.

Only a month or two of baking season left. Then it will be too hot to turn on the stove.

Less crack, more cookies.

Crack isn't made with love.

nevermind then.

Sorry, I had 日本語の学校. But I got some cookies any way and crap were they good. I'm shocked some pretty young thing hasn't snapped you up!

Funny. We were discussing that just this evening!

I'm sure it's just a matter of time. :)

Oops, that was tonight? I do indeed feel the shame.

For the record though, I can actually write things by hand perfectly well. It's just everyone else's fault that they can never read them.

My handwriting has also degraded into a scrawl. I'm sure that practise, however, will improve it a lot.

I prescribe a strict regimen of exercise books and letter writing.

If there weren't the better part of 5000km between us, I would happily have attended. I like to write angry letters in crayon to Canadian public figures, in the mode of Mendelson Joe's letters to the editor, minus any of the intelligent commentary.

Do you adorn your vitriol with crayon illustrations of stick figures at the voting booth?

My sense of adventure has four finals coming up.
4th Apr, 2006 09:01 (UTC)
How thrilling!
4th Apr, 2006 05:51 (UTC)
Hey! Post a recipe for those cookies! I will attempt to make them on the same streak where I'd be finally trying out my grandma's recipe for muffin cakes.
4th Apr, 2006 08:51 (UTC)
You can have the peanut butter cookie recipe.
4th Apr, 2006 11:31 (UTC)
I counted four of us there plus you when we showed up. Or did we not rate in the total count? *sniff*

4th Apr, 2006 15:20 (UTC)
Nope! You don't count if you haven't proved that you're literate. :)

Not only do I have the warm and fuzzy satisfaction of civic duty well done, but I also have delicious sugary treats to see me through this increeeeedibly boring day at work! My thanks again!

BTW – this is the Food Festivus I was referring to…
Taste of the Nation
At 95$ a head it’s…pricey, but I’ll still consider it if I ever get paid this week... Benefits go to Dans la Rue, among other organizations.

You're quite welcome.

Looking at the photographs on that website you've got, it's obviously a be-seen event as opposed to a foodie event. They've got caterers serving food off sterno trays. This does not bode well.
4th Apr, 2006 18:56 (UTC)
Hmm, yeah, I noticed that too. My original interest was generated by a TV add which had about a 70:30, food:people pic ratio…we’ll see…

You wrote me a Christmas letter, and I never wrote back. Now I feel bad. I'll write you one and give you an update on what's going on in my life right now.

(Short answer is....school)
4th Apr, 2006 18:14 (UTC)
School. I've been out of it for long enough that the bitterness is wearing off. In another couple of years, I might even have fond memories!

4th Apr, 2006 20:50 (UTC)
Where is your sense of telling people about adventures 24 hours in advance?
4th Apr, 2006 21:13 (UTC)
You had days, man. Days!
