A brief respite

  • 26th Jun, 2006 at 1:36 PM

I have returned to Montréal.

I'm sitting on my balcony, watching a neighbour's cats, watching me. In the distance, I hear the trumpeting of car horns. It means that someone has won another football match.

It feels good to be a hermit again. Not that I don't have stories to tell you. Not at all.

I have only a couple of days before I'm off to Ottawa. I think I'm going to sit here forever and savour my apartment. While I still can.

Until Canada Day? Possibly later?

I haven't yet decided, as life is in such an indeterminate state right now.

I certainly hope so.

I will have to decide whether I stay in Toronto overnight or dash back to Montréal on some overnight bus ride. I suppose this might be influenced by whether I can arrange for some crash space.
