A couple of days ago, someone mentioned this show to me and suggested that I write about it. I put it off for a while and then realized that it involves two pretty nifty things:

The first of which is that it's being held at Café Blue Monday, which is one of the few hip establishments in Verdun. This is a blessing for Verdun residents, but not so good for the café. Still, they have rather tasty food so I'm inclined to go.

Second, I've already heard Adam and Alden play, at a loft party that they were involved in a few months ago. It was rather enjoyable and they didn't mind my camera, so I was quite pleased.

Any chance you could make a recording of the show?

Sorry. I neither have the equipment nor the know-how to do that.

Have you done a recording before? What did you do?

I'm thinking just take a microphone and a laptop, and make a giant wav file. Last time I tried to record a show I took my MD player (it was a while back...) and it's a pain in the ass to transfer it to my computer. I'm not really looking for studio-quality, but am just curious about Adam&Alden.

Hmm. My laptop seems to have died and I don't have any microphones at all. So I suspect that this will just have to be unrecorded.

I'm not sold on calling it a "hip establishment". I've been there a couple times and my experience was that it's garishly lit, has uncomfortable seating and has the feel of a dinner that's too new to have acquired truckers.

The fact that the food is vegan, however, is a major plus.

Hmm. I'm not sure how comfort actually fits in with hipness.

You see, Verdun is a sleepy little place, so the fact that there is a vegan establishment there already gives it a metric ton of hipness points.
