Scott McCloud stopped in at Librarie Millenium when he visited Montreal on Saturday. The store was crowded with folks who wanted to talk to him, which was pretty neat. Though some of you held up the line. :)

I had never actually read any of Scott's books before. Actually, I know basically nothing about comics. However, after hearing him speak passionately and sincerely about his medium of choice, I've borrowed some reading material from my friends.

Since I had my camera with me, I took the opportunity to snap a few photographs.

I second makemyway's comments. Start with "Understanding Comics", which I think is one of the best books ever created on art as a whole.

Yes, he was. Sorry you did not hear about it.

As someone who knows almost nothing about comics, I didn't think to spread the news.

Hi !
The pic of Ivy is great. And what makes me laugh is that's my husband's arm in the background. He works at Milenium with J.B.
Michael and I went to dinner with Scott and Ivy and family and spent many fun hours with them.
I'll have to post about our evening with this wonderful family as soon as I can. The McCloud family rocks.

I just got a hold of an incredible graphic memoir called "Fun Home" by Alison Bechdel. I've always been a huge fan of cartooning, since I studied graphic art myself for many years. Highly recommend it! Feel free to come and borrow it anytime.
