Driving to Waterloo again

  • 6th Sep, 2004 at 8:27 AM

This past week has been hectic. I feel like I've been firefighting little problems that crop up at work, which interrupt me from fixing large heaps of brokenness in our build system. Oh sadness… why do I always end up with build system work? Is it because I can't stand to see it done incorrectly?

The other part of my week has been devoted to getting Julie back to Waterloo. At 10:00, I will be at the Hertz pick-up location downtown where I will get a passenger van. I'll drop off the seats with them, and then drive back to start laoding it with Julie's stuff. With any luck, our drive to Waterloo will be smooth. At least the weather seems to be looking well: only a 10% chance of rain.

I'll be helping Julie get started for school, and aiding her in setting up the house. Since she owns many heavy things, I'll be doing the moving and assembling so she doesn't hurt her hands again. I'll be returning Thursday morning so that I can get back to Montréal at a reasonable time. I hope to see Jim on his whirlwind trip through Canada.
