Bad driving karma

  • 9th Sep, 2004 at 9:08 PM

I made it back safely to Montréal, thank goodness. It seems that making this trip is never good for me.

Things were progressing smoothly and I was ahead of schedule. Traffic was doing well, until I got to Cornwall. That's when I met up with ex-Hurricane Francis who still had some huff in him. He snapped my driver-side windshield wiper, leaving me to get out of the car and try to repair it. This failed, so I spent the last two hours of my trip bent over the passenger-side seat so I could look out the only clear window.

Then, to add insult to injury, I got stuck in a traffic jam as the 20-15 interchange was closed.

It appears that the storm has passed, so I can go outside and claim my stuff from the back of the van. Jim is planning to sleep here, so I'd better get something setup for him.

Oh! The first Francis I thought of was Sir Francis Bacon, but I guess that was a long time ago.

i guess it's one of those names that goes both ways.
this one was actually spelled Frances (which might make it more female? i don't know).

hurricane names alternate between male and female:
so far- alex, bonnie, charley, danielle, earl, frances, gaston, hermine, ivan... and so on
