God is an iron

  • 5th Feb, 2005 at 1:52 PM

I woke up cold this morning. This is unusual, because my room stays at about 27°C.

I'm sick. Not ill on my back like denizsarikaya but enough to say, "ha ha, very funny." I'm overdosing on vitamin C right now.

With great regret, I had to call Allison and Damian and cancel our trip to get library cards. When we were in the area, we were also going to visit Monas and spoil ourselves by buying kitchen things. I haven't engaged in rampant consumerism in… oh… a couple years. So it would have been fun to pick up some thick-bottomed pots. Or a new butane torch.

I'm leaving tomorrow for Toronto at 15:40, so I'm giving myself as much bedrest as I can today. I think I'll be better by the time I wake up. Besides, I have a lot of reading and writing that I'd like to do.

Oooh. I made a good decision. Instead of trying to transfer on the Greyhound, and completely missing the connexion, I'm going to connect through the trains itself. This should be fine for going to Kitchener, and strangely enough, it is cheaper too. I guess Kitchener isn't a wild and crazy town that people oft visit.

27C ? You are crazy man. 19-20C is the right temperature, whoever you are.

Je suis frileux (et Québecois?!?), j'aime mieux 22°C environ, mais d'un autre côté, je suis souvent sans pantalon, c'est peut-être pour ça. ;-)

I'm not sure how Stephen would react if walked around the NitiHouse without trousers.

Although I guess it would be hilarious to find out.

Well, there's only one way to find out, isn't there?

27 degrees? Wow. I keep my room fairly chilly then in comparison... like 15-20 degrees - tops! Sometimes I keep it at 12 degrees and just put on socks and an extra sweater. Have you always kept your room that warm? I know the Denzo usually likes her room fairly warm, with the humidifier... but she grew up in Saudi Arabia... so like maybe that's why? But I thought you grew up in Canada... or maybe you just don't like the cold? Either/or - I hope you are feeling better soon, and that whatever you have doesn't turn into what the Denzo has.

I don't keep it warm.

I live in a duplex, and there's a central thermostat for the entire house. It lives in the garage. Yes, the garage. This is due to a little temperature war held by some previous tenants.

In any event, the house is heated such that it is 23°C in the lower half. But the guy downstairs likes to burn wood, which makes his part a little warmer. And all the hot air rises into our apartment, so we typically have 25°C in the hallways.

I have computers in my room which spikes the temperature even more. I don't mind this though, I coming into a warm room after being outside in the brisk Canadian winter.
